Technology in the classroom

Websites:
VOXER.COM
Particularly in our second and third-year classes, we will be using a ‘walkie-talkie’ website which turns your phone, tablet, or computer into a walkie-talkie.  It allows students to communicate with each other and/or the teacher spontaneously.  Plus these conversations can be at a distance (at home) to avoid repetition and imitation.

YOUCANBOOK.ME
To book an appointment for Office Hours (students only) http://madamefoster.youcanbook.me/

GOOGLE CLASSROOM
For most document sharing we use Google. [Google docs, presentations, forms, etc.]
We use Google classroom to post assignments, information about the class, and more. Please ask your student for the code to join their class. That will allow you to receive a newsletter about what we are up to in class.

EDPUZZLE.COM
We are working out a few kinks, but the do it at home video program called edpuzzle.com has been very useful.  Each class has its own login and students can work at home as long as they meet the deadlines.

VOKI.COM
Voki classroom we use to record and share our voice with different writing assignments. Students can share the class page with parents upon request as it is password protected.

PADLET.COM
We are using this as a backchannel mostly. It is a place to store our ideas and creates a handy reference page for our Francophone countries list.

KAHOOT.IT
This has been a lot of fun this year for the students and for me! We use this simple software to generate quizzes on the content we are learning. Students also may create quizzes to share with the class with approval from the teacher. It is a great way to check for understanding and a fun way to remember the learning objectives of the day.

DONORSCHOOSE.COM
I am so very grateful to my parents, family, friends and community for your support of technology use in the classroom. Thank you so much for making all of these things possible. We have added seven (7) new iPod touch devices and two (2) new Chromebooks just this year. Feel free to check out my teacher page to see what your students are planning next! www.donorschoose.org/madamefoster
